Starting with Copics

Hello,
I posted this message a few weeks ago on the Benelux blog, at our Facebook page I got requests for a translated version in English. Here it is in English and German. I know it is not my day for a tutorial, but I don't want to let you wait so long.
***
Hallo,

Almost every week I recieve emails with the question which Copic Markers to start with. In this post I hope to help you decide with which markers you could start or expand your collection of Copics. It is difficult to tell you exactly where to start, because it depends on your way of colouring, are you colouring flowers or cuties, which cuties?
***

Here are some questions that are looming.
***

Are you buying Ciao (180 colours)  or Sketch markers (358 colours)?
***
Kauft Ihr Ciao Marker (180 Farben) oder Sketch Marker (358 Farben)?

Do you colour cuties who need bold colours, like Kenny K, Satured Canary or Make It Crafty? Or are you in love with the more sweet images from Sylvia Zet (Wee stamps) , or Magnolia, or LOTV? Then you need more pastel or vintage colours.
***
B. Kenny K, Saturated Canary oder auch Make it Crafty?
Oder verwendet Ihr lieber die "süßeren" Motive von Sylvia Zet (Wee Stamps), Magnolia oder LOTV? Dann werdet Ihr sanftere oder Vintage-Farben benötigen.

Do you love bright and bold colouring or do you prefer watercolour-like colouring.
***

Which kind/brand scrap papers are you using for your scrap cards,  does it have a lot of light colours or do you prefer vintage papers.
***

Not least, what is your budget?
***

Until now there have been questions, and I hope to give you the answers now. I made a list of Basic Colours in the Copic Ciao range, for that  I made a special colour chart to colour them in. I also made a list for you when you choose the Copic Sketch markers, there will be a difference because there are more colours to choose from.
You know that the colours in both markers are the same B0 in Ciao is the same colour as the B0 in Sketch. Choose at least 3 colours in a group, when there are more indicated, you can skip the darkest or one in between. Only for the hair colours I made the enumeration from dark to light, because I colour them that way.
***

I made a huge list, but you need to choose which colour green you use the most; spring green, vintage green, mid green. Take your answers on the questions above as a guideline.
***

We advise to buy very light and very dark markers of a colour group, if you want to colour watercolour-like or if you want to achieve a distress look.
Some nice distress-combinations:
***
R000-00-20-22 and W3
YG00- 91-95 and W3
B000-B00-02 and W3
V000-01 ands W3

I hope this will help you make a considered choise.
I hope you enjoy the colouring with Copic Markers as much as I do.

greetings Diny
